School Highlight – 3/7/2025

Kofi Annan believed that education is not just a right, but a force capable of transforming societies and fostering stronger, more cohesive communities. Over the past school year, we’ve seen our school evolve through education. What began as a building filled with bright young learners venturing into new territory, a blank canvas, has blossomed into a vibrant community of scholars, friends, and innovators. Together, we have cultivated an environment of unity, strength, and excellence, not only within our individual classrooms but across grades, between students and teachers, and within the relationships shared by administrators, students, and peers alike.

This first year has laid the foundation for what is to come for HOCA. While it’s not perfect, after all, growth is a continuous journey, there is no doubt that the foundation we’ve built is strong!

Here at HOCA, our students are not simply here to learn Math, Reading, Science, and History. They are here to grow into young men and women who embody the values of Courage, Truthfulness, Generosity, Ambition, Kindness, Nobility, Patience, and Temperance. These are the Virtues that define HOCA, and these are the colors with which our students have painted the blank canvas that was once our school. With these virtues as their guide, our students and staff have built a foundation on which our community will continue to thrive and grow. As the final months of this school year pass, take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come. Look at the progress we’ve made and imagine the possibilities that lie ahead.
