Meet the Headmaster

Dear HOCA Families and Friends,

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Lanthorn as the new Headmaster of Heart of Ohio Classical Academy.

Mr. Lanthorn brings a wealth of experience in school leadership, operations, and student development. With a strong background as a high school principal, educator, coach, and program developer, he is well-prepared to lead our school with excellence. His previous schools have achieved impressive milestones, including the prestigious Purple Star Award, and he has been personally recognized by multiple organizations for his contributions to student growth and success.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lanthorn has demonstrated a passion for building strong school communities, fostering student character, and preparing young people for meaningful futures. We are confident that he will uphold the classical values and academic rigor that define HOCA while supporting our faculty, families, and students.

We are also deeply grateful to Dean Katie Jo Urbancic for her outstanding leadership and commitment during this transition. Her efforts were instrumental in maintaining continuity and excellence while we conducted our search.
